Climate Change Pledge and support for businesses
One of the Worcester Alliance’s objectives was to have 75% of forum members signed up to the Worcestershire Climate Change Pledge – by September 2010! As far as we are aware, only about 12 out of the 50 member organisations have signed up so far. It’s really essential that all other members consider this pledge which is key to tackling carbon emissions across the City. The pledge enables a clear focus on what needs to be done to reduce your carbon footprint.

“The area of North East Worcester that covers Warndon and Gorse Hill wards, as well as a small part of Rainbow Hill ward, has been identified as an area of the city that needs attention to create better outcomes for local people. WORCESTER Community Housing’s (WCH) ICT Support Administrator Richard Husband, has been named as Inspirational Mentor of the Year in the 2010 national Housing Hero awards.
He beat off competition from 5 other finalists, shortlisted from over 300 entries, to bring home the accolade for his work on the ‘Walk Like A Warrior’ youth engagement and citizenship project.
The project, delivered by the Warriors Community Team together with local Policing Teams, saw Richard take WCH customers aged between 12 and 14 under his wing. He mentored them through the 10-week project that teaches life …
